New products! New products! New products! OK, calm down, put your panties back on.
Sometimes it is easy to come up with ideas or new products.
All one has to do is look at the legit creator websites to find ideas.
Barring that, customers and potential clients can help.
In jewelry
there are myriad opportunities for divesting oneself of their favorite genre.
Aside from the classics that every jeweler within that category should sell,
mastering simple and basic designs is the key to making
quality merchandise of any type.
We, as artisans, would certainly make whatever a client wants if it's within our
capabilities. Even with thousands of earrings
there will always be the "Could you make one like this?" group.
Yes, speak up. I don't charge extra for custom work like most
sellers or manufacturers.
It was inevitable for me to offer spinner, or worry/anxiety, rings. Fully handmade, welded, and forged for
durability, they are
found here.
The concept is pretty simple though two rings must fit together precisely.
To keep things consistent the process needs to be identical for every spinner ring
of the same type or size. That means band width and thickness, angles or contours at the edges,
etc. Maybe even a double spinner where one ring spins on top of another which collectively spin
on top of another one.
Why stop at one spinner if there's room for more? I aim to please as many as possible.
New tools! New tools! New tools! After designing a successful prototype tool I looked at commercial versions.
When the first question is "How is this gonna work for situation X?"
with no clear answer...needless to say I will continue making my own. It will be
substantially better and more versatile. While more time and money (and overkill
probably), it'll last a lifetime and never face situation X.
My mind races when making new tools. How much more than its
original function can or could it do? With this one it will
really only flare the edges of a cylinder up to ring size 26 or so.
A larger version I am experimenting with would work on bangles and other non-ring
components. That means spinner bangles might be coming.
The texture can be any of my normal offerings aside from fold-formed.
Like always, any tweaks to make it your perfect ring are at your fingertips.
Options include wider or thicker bands, more elaborate texturing, etc.
The other option for a spinner-type ring is a
Mobius ring.
Two or more bands are intertwined to form one ring,
all of which pass through all the other bands. Plenty of opportunities to twist, turn, flip around,
and otherwise pleasure your fidgetiness.
