German Silver

A quick internet search reveals everything about this fantastic, nearly worthless metal. It has many aliases including gunmetal, nickelsilver, and alpacca. There is no silver in it at all, to repeat, 0% silver! I'd provide links but those believing otherwise will think it's a conspiracy even though every page in an internet search says it is silver-free.

Like silverplated junk that has an abundance of hallmarks, German Silver is designed to fool ignorant, clueless people lacking the common sense of an average kindergartner. Instead of researching it online, they arrogantly think that because it contains the word silver it must be silver. Some even say their ""tests"" confirmed it is solid silver...what, right next to the German Silver mark?!

German Silver is an open-and-shut case but by no means is this situation unique. OK, so they are idiots for not researching it initially, no arguing that fact. Wouldn't a functionally intelligent person look into it further when they are informed that German Silver contains no silver instead of spouting off like an ignoramus?

The silver standard in Germany has been 0.800, 0.935, and a host of others between those two. Items composed of these legitimate silver alloys have additional hallmarks identifying them as such (usually a crescent moon and a crown, sometimes with a maker's mark). Real silver items from any country never, ever, never, ever have "German Silver" stamped on them!

OK, so they are idiots for not researching it initially, no arguing that fact.

Sellers disagree constantly. I explained the German Silver thing to one dimwit yet they were still adamant. Stating they are correct about everything in their listing and subsequent emails - they even claimed to thoroughly research it after my email - they still refused to believe the facts. Another cited their multiple college degrees as to why they were right and I was "100% wrong."

Search for items with "German Silver" on any selling platform and see the scams for yourself. For amusement, try emailing the liars and watch the fireworks. Few will admit/realize their """honest""" """"mistake"""" and change. The real gems will argue incessantly and violently no matter the evidence.

People don't like to be wrong and don't like when others point it out. Eating a slice of humble pie ain't on the menu. To preserve their opinion of themselves as honest, responsible people they will defend their position tirelessly. Defend what? Their complete disregard for reality?

Some people shouldn't be allowed to interact with the masses or sell anything. Can't they be confined to a secluded island devoid of outside contact among equally nonsensical, cognitively deprived individuals? Their echo chamber would reverberate around the world. Maybe send them to outer space instead where sound doesn't travel...without spacesuits?

If facts were easy to digest we'd solve nearly all the world's problems. If egos weren't so fragile and unstable we'd have virtually no wars or conflict. If people shut their piehole when they don't have a clue what they're talking about, don't have anything important to say, or are caught in bold-faced lies there'd be no social media. But that won't happen anytime soon.
